Your team got fast with AI. Let’s make sure it stays good.

I’m a Lead Product Designer for teams shipping with AI. I build the design systems, agent patterns and review habits that keep the product worth trusting as you speed up.

  1. Product Strategy

Clarity on what to build, and why, before anything is designed.

Research, opportunity mapping and a roadmap tied to business goals, including where AI genuinely helps your product and where it doesn't.

    • Discovery, user research and problem framing
    • Opportunity and AI use-case mapping
    • Product vision, roadmap and success metrics
    • Fast prototypes to test ideas with real users
    • Experiments and A/B tests that prove the impact

  2. Design Systems

AI-ready systems your team and your AI tools can build with.

Tokens, components and documentation structured so people and AI coding agents ship consistent, accessible, on-brand UI, fast.

    • Audit of the existing interface and components
    • Design tokens and theming (light, dark, multi-brand)
    • Component libraries in Figma, matched one to one in code
    • Machine-readable docs and rules for AI coding agents
    • Governance and contribution that keep it alive

  3. Agentic UX

Agents and AI features people understand, control and trust.

Interaction design for agents and conversational products: clear limits, visible reasoning, human checkpoints and safe hand-offs.

    • Agent and conversational interface design
    • Trust patterns: sources, confidence and controls
    • Human-in-the-loop checkpoints and hand-offs
    • Error, refusal and recovery states
    • Prototypes built on real models

Approach

A few things I’m pretty sure about.

  1. Prompts are the new handoff. If a machine can’t read your design system, it isn’t finished.

  2. An agent that can’t say “I’m not sure” is a liability, not a feature.

  3. Speed without review is just a faster way to ship the wrong thing.

  4. The best AI strategy includes a list of what not to automate.

  5. Designers aren’t being replaced. They’re being promoted to the decisions only a designer can make.

  6. Measure it or it didn’t happen. Impact should be a number, not a mood.

Engagements

A Lead Product Designer on your team, without the hire.

  • Fixed price

    Design audit

Two weeks, one clear answer: what’s holding the product back, and what to fix first. I go through your design system, or one AI or agent flow, rank what I find by impact and turn it into a roadmap you can act on. We finish with a walkthrough for your team.

    Custom project

A piece of work with a start and an end, like a design system build, an AI feature or a redesign. We agree the scope, timeline and price before anything starts, and you’ll have a one-page proposal within two business days of our call.

From people I’ve worked with

As a lead on the Newsweek Design System, he accomplished what typically takes teams over a year to build, in less than three months.

A talented, forward-thinking product designer with great technical acuity, fantastic taste and strong design skill. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat.

Chris BeaumontDirector of Product Management, Newsweek

He works seamlessly across engineering, product and leadership teams, and elevates the quality of the work around him.

Anthony A. MarinSoftware Engineering, Newsweek

We collaborated on several large-scale projects, including two major site redesigns. His proactive, ‘outside the box’ thinking consistently led to visually stunning and effective solutions.

Scott BatchelorFractional Marketing Lead

An incredibly effective and experienced design leader. His ability to structure process and develop scalable design solutions is invaluable to the people he works with.

Working together

What it’s like to have me on the project.

You’ll know where we stand every week, and you’ll own everything when I leave. One person, start to finish. No account managers, no hand-offs.

  1. A 30-minute call

No deck. You describe the problem in your own words. You leave with my honest read, even if we never work together.

  2. A one-page proposal in two business days

Scope, timeline, investment, and how we’ll measure success.

  3. Kickoff within two weeks

I’m in your Slack, Figma and repo from day one.

  4. A weekly rhythm

A short written update, one live session, and decisions recorded as we go.

  5. Humans stay in charge of quality

I design the review gates so your people spend their judgment on decisions, not on catching the same mistake in every PR.

  6. A clean handover

A recorded walkthrough, documentation your team owns and a 30-day check-in. You own everything, so it keeps working after I’m gone.
